Launching the ‘Meet the Target’ campaign

Since 2000, the Global Fund partnership has saved 44 million lives. This has been made possible by the mobilization of donor countries and the will to ensure a better life for vulnerable populations facing HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Every three years, funds are mobilized in the name of international solidarity. This year, for the 7th Global Fund’s Replenishment to be held in September in the United States.

It is essential to mobilise AT LEAST 18 billion dollars to ensure the continuation of interventions to save the lives of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS and affected by Malaria and Tuberculosis.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (UTC), civil society organisations members of GFAN Africa, in collaboration with other civil society networks, are launching a large-scale “Meet The Target” campaign at the regional level in Africa and at the global level by associating platforms such as: GFAN Asia Pacific, CS4ME, Draft TB, W4GF, RAME, Malaria Free Mekong, ALMA Youth Advisory Council, RECAJ+, etc.

The objectives of this campaign are to:

  1. Launch and expand the “Meet the Target” campaign with key stakeholders and civil society;
  2. Raise awareness and engage stakeholders to play their part in mobilizing the $18 billion target this September at the Global Fund’s 7th Replenishment Conference.

The launch of the campaign will be held during a bilingual (English/French) webinar. Speakers will address different themes covering domestic resource mobilization for health, mobilization of matching funds, the importance of African countries’ contribution to the Global Fund’s 7th replenishment, etc.

Civil society has a crucial role to play in the mobilization of Global Fund resources ! Please register to the Meet The Target webinar by clicking on the link and reserve your seat.
