CIFF Commits Additional US$50 Million to the Global Fund to Scale Up TB Diagnosis

The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) has committed an additional US$50 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to scale up innovative TB diagnostics. This marks CIFF’s first-ever investment in TB, complementing its earlier US$150 million commitment to breaking the cycle of HIV transmission.

While this funding is a major step forward, it also highlights a deeper truth: women and girls in all their diversity remain disproportionately affected by TB – even more so when affected by HIV. Late diagnosis and limited access to testing continue to threaten their health and rights.

This investment has the potential to bring lifesaving technology closer to communities — a move toward integrated, gender-transformative responses that reach women & girls in all their diversity.
