Elisa Canqui Mollo

Elisa Canqui Mollo identifies with the Aymara people and is an indigenous and feminist activist in Bolivia. She served as Member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues from 2008 to 2010. Since 2009 she has served as a member of the International Indigenous Working Group on HIV and AIDS and has worked in the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs in Bolivia. As a Member of International Indigenous Working Group on HIV and AIDS, she has been working on Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV and important linkages. At community level, she is aware of how the national TB program is implemented at the municipal levels, advocates for indigenous peoples and especially the engagement and participation of women in TB prevention. Following working with the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs in Bolivia Elisa became a consultant for the Interamerican Development Bank and other international co-operations in Bolivia. Elisa is currently working on her PhD thesis on indigenous governance and extractive industries.
