Analysis Statement for CSW69 – ACCELERATING GENDER EQUALITY AND WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT –

As the 69th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) concludes, Women4GlobalFund (W4GF) joins voices from around the world demanding urgent, transformative action for gender equality. In our latest statement, we reflect on the progress—and persistent setbacks—since the Beijing Declaration, highlighting the voices of women and girls in all their diversity. At a time when rights are under attack and civil society space is shrinking, we urge global actors to step up with bold, intersectional, and feminist approaches to global health and equity.

📣 W4GF’s statement outlines the realities facing women and gender-diverse communities, particularly those most affected by HIV, TB, and malaria. It captures insights from our global study on gender backlash and sheds light on the funding gaps, legal barriers, and violence that continue to undermine gender-transformative responses in health. We call for meaningful investment in feminist-led initiatives, the full integration of SRHR and health responses into Universal Health Coverage, and the recognition of women’s leadership in health decision-making spaces.

📑 We invite you to read the full statement and join us in advocating for a future where no woman or girl is left behind. Let’s ensure that health equity and gender justice are not just policy goals, but realities lived by all.
