As UNAIDS prepares its next Global AIDS Strategy (2026–2031), Women4GlobalFund (W4GF) is urging bold action—not business as usual.
In our statement to the 56th UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board (PCB), we outline six urgent feminist demands to ensure the new strategy is not only effective, but gender-transformative, community-led, and justice-centered.
📌 What we’re calling for:
- A non-negotiable gender-transformative strategy—even amid funding cuts
- Recognition and resourcing of women health workers and feminist movements
- Real community and gender accountability in UNAIDS restructuring
- End to blind “country ownership” without addressing criminalization and systemic inequality
- Time-bound targets for gender and community leadership
- Full financing of efforts to eliminate HIV-related stigma and discrimination
🌍 The HIV response cannot succeed without centering women and girls in all their diversity.
