Global Fund Celebrates Private Sector Pledges Exceeding US$1Billion on Sidelines of UN General Assembly

The Global Fund has announced over US$1 billion in private sector pledges made during the UN General Assembly last month, marking a strong step toward a fully funded 8th Replenishment.

Highlights include:
• The Gates Foundation pledging US$912 million, reaffirming its long-standing leadership.
• (RED) committing US$75 million, continuing nearly 20 years of partnership.
• CIFF adding US$50 million to accelerate TB diagnostics.
• Goodbye Malaria and the Johnson & Johnson Foundation pledging further resources to strengthen frontline health systems in Africa.

These contributions represent more than funding — they reflect a shared commitment to innovation, inclusion, and partnership. As Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund, stated:

“The Replenishment is more than a funding moment; it’s a catalyst to redefine global health leadership.”

For Women4GlobalFund, these pledges must translate into real investment in gender-transformative and community-led health responses, ensuring that women and girls in all their diversity are not only beneficiaries but decision-makers in shaping the future of global health.

A fully funded 8th Replenishment could save up to 23 million lives — but it will only achieve this if investments reflect the lived realities of those most affected.

Together, we must advocate for and ensure a fully funded #8thReplenishment.
The time to invest is now!
