WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP IN GLOBAL FUND GRANTS AND PROCESSES: INTRODUCTION FOR ADVOCATES IN MENA REGION
W4GF’s team held a introductory webinar with advocates from MENA Region. This webinar is in Arabic and English. The webinar aimed to be a space for sharing lessons learned and the priorities in public health for women in MENA in the midst of a context of increasing conflicts and climate change.

APPLYING SYSTEMS THINKING TO HEALTH PRACTICES
W4GF’s Global Coordinator, Ángela León Cáceres, presented to New York University students the work W4GF does to improve HIV, TB, and Malaria comprehensive responses; highlighting the need of inclusive and gender-transformative health responses through the meaningful engagement of women in all of their diversity in Global Fund’s processes.

EMPOWERING ADOLESCENTS GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN ZAMBIA: ONE-DAY ORIENTATION FOR FLOURISHERS
On February 16th, we held a one-day orientation with Zambia flourishers who participated in W4GF initiatives to provide a comprehensive orientation of the W4GF mission, vision, mandate, processes, and opportunities to advocate for gender equality in Global Fund processes. During the session, participants gained a thorough understanding of W4GF initiatives and their significance in advancing global health and gender equality in HIV, TB, and Malaria responses within the Global Fund. Furthermore, flourishers could have an overlook to comprehend their roles within W4GF and feel empowered to contribute to the initiative’s goals actively, as well as enhanced collaboration and synergy among AGYW Flourishers, fostering a stronger network of support and advocacy. Finally, we end the session with a roadmap with concrete actions to improve the meaningful participation of AGYW in the decision-making processes of Global Fund governance at the country level.

El 14 de septiembre, sostuvimos un webinario con la plataforma regional de Comunidad, Derechos y Género en América Latina y el Caribe del Fondo Global con mujeres de la región y poblaciones clave para socializar las oportunidades y desafíos de la abogacía para la equidad de género en las respuestas del VIH, la malaria y la tuberculosis.

TRAINING SESSION ON CRITICAL ASPECTS OF THE GLOBAL FUND – INDIA
On July 1st, Alia Amimi held a hybrid training session with women’s organisations in India about the critical aspects of the Global Fund and the Seventh granting cycle. Twenty-one women participated and had an insightful dialogue about how to engage in health advocacy spaces in India through the Global Fund.

SESSION DE FORMATION SUR LES ASPECTS CLÉS DU FONDS MONDIAL – CAMEROUN / TRAINING SESSION ON KEY ASPECTS OF THE GLOBAL FUND – CAMEROON
Le 30 juin, Alia Amimi, coordinatrice du plaidoyer, a présenté les principaux aspects du Fonds mondial à 21 femmes du Cameroun afin de comprendre le contexte du pays dans la lutte contre le paludisme, le VIH et la tuberculose. La session s’est déroulée par groupes de participants à Yaoundé et à Bamenda, avec la participation de membres du CCM, du SC et d’autres personnes. Ils ont discuté du rôle, des conditions de financement et des processus du fonds, entre autres, donnant aux participants une image plus claire de la position et de l’engagement du Cameroun dans la #GC7 et, surtout, de l’importance et des avantages d’une participation incluant le genre.

W4GF WEBINAR “EMPOWERING WOMEN IN GHANA FOR GC7: NAVIGATING THE GLOBAL FUND GRANT MAKING PROCESS AND BEYOND”
On June 21st, we held a training webinar with 17 women, adolescents and girls from Ghana to give logistical support and tools and develop capacities and advocacy skills to lead national processes and influence the 2023-2025 Allocation Cycle. W4GF aims to make accessible and understandable the current Global Fund Strategy (2023-2028), with a particular focus on disseminating the importance of the catalytic investments for faster progress in reducing new infections, addressing structural barriers to improved HIV, tuberculosis and malaria outcomes and building equity, sustainability and lasting impact.

STRENGTHENING THE ENGAGEMENT OF WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV-LED NETWORKS SERIES: GLOBAL FUND 101: GENDER INTERVENTIONS WEBINAR
On June 16th, W4GF participated in the webinar “Global Fund 101: reinforcing gender equality” for Women living with HIV and Key Population women, whose purpose was to discuss how to ensure meaningful involvement in the GC7 funding request process and increase gender equity in prioritisation.

GENDER EQUALITY & HUMAN RIGHTS NOW: MEANINGFUL INCLUSION PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE PANDEMIC TREATY PROCESSES
On May 30th, more than 130 individuals and organizations attended the webinar to discuss Women and Girls’ participation in the Pandemic Treaty Process. As a result of the webinar, we have a call to action to stakeholders signed by individuals and organizations that demand the meaningful participation in the Pandemic Treaty process has a gender focus and ensures that the voices of women, girls, and adolescents have a place. The biggest lesson learned is that we only can address the epidemics of today and tomorrow with the meaningful participation of women in their diversity.

UPDATE ON PLEDGING FOR THE GLOBAL FUNDS 7TH REPLENISHMENT
On Tuesday 14 June approx 45 people joined a webinar to have an update on the Global Funds 7th Replenishment pledging and what more needs to be done ahead of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2022, (happening week of 20 June 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda.)

UNDERSTANDING THE GLOBAL FUND’S SEVENTH REPLENISHMENT
On Tuesday 17 May 68 people gathered to understand the Global Fund 7th replenishment. Participants were joined by the Global Fund Secretariat, the Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN), GFAN Africa and GFAN Asia-Pacific.
